Some interesting new tidbits from Jeffré Phillips!
I just spoke with Jeffré on the telephone and he had a few things to say regarding La Toya and the album.
La Toya DOES have two more songs to complete for the record. They are going for a "four to the floor" dance style album with ten tracks including a new mix of Just Wanna Dance. They spent hours on the plane back and forth from Europe going over potential tracks for the album. As we told you before, I Don't Play That and Free the World will not be included on the final product. They've cut the idea of using interlude/skit tracks as well.
He was adamant that he wouldn't give a date but he said I won't be asking him a year from now about the release date of Startin' Over. The first quarter looks likely. Universal wants to put the original draft of the album, I Don't Play That and the mixes of Just Wanna Dance and Free the World on iTunes when the album is released.
Pop Dynasty is still on. However, CBS keeps giving them date after date (sound familiar?) and then dates pass by without another word. The last they heard was to "keep La Toya's schedule open in May" and here we are at the end of May with nothing. La Toya took a meeting with them just three weeks ago regarding the show. Things will come but it's just the nature of the business.
La Toya is approached once or twice a year to write another book chronicling her life since the release of her first. She has always turned the offers down but now would consider it. There is no book deal right now but it may happen sometime soon.
Both he and La Toya felt let down with CBS not re-airing Armed & Famous as promised. La Toya was even approached by fans in Copenhagen saying that the show was recently airing and they they loved her on it.
La Toya will be returning to Muncie, Indiana for the month of July to log her hours as a police officer. (To keep your position, you must log two weeks on the job per calendar year.) Both Erik Estrada and Jack Osbourne have returned to Muncie and La Toya is keen to do so this summer!
That's all the info I can give for now, so enjoy!
