i just really wanted to ask how everyone truly doing. i know we all live in different parts of the world and thing have been really crazy lately, well at least here in usa particually here in california. california has passed prop 8 which dosent allow gay people to get marry but gonna allow all gay people who married before it got passed to stay married. prop 8 was funded by alot religious groups and ran threatenin ads about how kids would be taught about gay marriage and how gay marriage ruins families while those against prop 8 didnt really run many commercial till really really last min. hmm what else... oh california on the burge of failing. arnold or governer has basically ruined us allowed him and all leader to spend all our money and put money in bad programs. now he cutting lots of programs and services like police and fire people and skools and is also takin away from health care. i finally have a job doing indepedent home care meaning i go house to house feeding, bathing, cooking, cleaning, making sure medicine, etc is done for old or handicap people. i have one client who crazy as hell as in awsome lmao anyways arnold cut our pay by a dollar so we was makin 10 and now tried cut to 7 dollar which is below minimum wage federally. nobody can live off that plus it stop alot people from waitin to do the job. thanks to obama the cut wont happen because if it does california wont get stimulus money. hmm other then that im still going to college, i have pay for my classes now thanks to the governer. i be done by 2010 if i cna get past all this math. ill finally have my aa in business/marketing, then ill transfer to get my ba at a university. my mom been really sick so the family been in destress because she the main one who hold family together and pay for house stuff which we are barely doin anway. but i know things will get good because i got hope and a degree on the way and folks i love and can harass. oh dont mind my spellin also yall should know by now it not gonna get any better lmao

Prop 8 makes me vomit. Why shouldn't gay and lesbian couples be able to get married? It's so un fair and exactly the same as racisim. They might as well just force black people back into slavery.

In my opinion, racisim and homophobia is just as bad as peadophilia.

Prop 8 is hardly the same as chattel slavery.

Anyway it sounds like things in CA are similar what is happening in NV. Governor Gibbons slashed the budgets for education, healthcare and many other services. He is committed pauperizing Nevadans and his only policy is "no new taxes."

The governor tried to veto domestic partnerships but was overrode. By the way, he is a corrupt pervert who has been having affairs with Playboy models and once tried to rape a woman in a parking garage. His wife currently is separated from him and held a gay party in the Governor's Mansion to spite him.

I live in the Middle East Oman (Muscat). Gays & lesbians are Available in Oman but not much. So I don't see these people much either. When it comes to Marriage it's A Sin. God Al Mighty didn't say to Marry Gays or Lesbians. We marry the right way Male & Female. As for the weather it's really hot on June, July & Augt & I mean HOT & Humid. Acs are full time on. I've lived for more than 30 years. I love Oman. & As you all know I was born in UK. I love the Cold weather. So there.

Marriage is just a contract conferring certain rights on long-term partners. Whether religious organizations choose to acknowledge equal marriage or should be irrelevant from a civic perspective. Legalizing gay marriage doesn't make it mandatory. Its not an either/or choice so heterosexuals can still marry the opposite sex.

I live in Greece.It's a small country with 8.000.000 population.Here also they don't allowed gay/lesbian marriages.Something going to happen with this to Tilos island but not now....The goverment is the worst we have for years..The economic situation is very bad now and crises spreading to all kinds of work.From the other hand,Greek people always are optimistic race....but for matters like these they must be more open minded,i think...We have a lot more to be done yet..

him and arnold sound like they can be best of friends. it wouldnt surprise me if they where. arnold has a shady past too, some his stuff comes out but it seems to go away really quick which i dont get. it always amazed me how these people get into office who have no grip on reality of how the common people are. how could you cut services?? i never get y they never cut their own raises and salaries to help the budget. they never do anything in the first place and they are reason y the states are poor. we have such a great "democracy".

TheMichaelO prop 8 upsets me too. ive even gotten into arugments with my grandma and father who are very homophobic and think it right. i am african american and of coruse im a "woman" lmao whatever that means, so i do find homphobia to be very close to racism but it not anywhere like slavery or should be compared. what can be compared is how races werent allowed to marry other races in california and how certain races werent allowed to live in certain areas. that was brought up at the last min of the prop 8 those against. the one against prop 8 didnt come ahrd enough and waited till last min. we have marches and what not but a lil too late. they still fighting it though which is good.

ToySoldier im sorry to hear u and everyone over in greece is in that situation. i at first thought that only america was havin issues but the more everytone share their stories the more i hear that everyone suffering. i know everyone suffering in like well know places like africa and places in other thirdworld countries but id never think other places that are "rich" like greece. i hope things get better soon for u guys and u guys get to vote for some new people. all these politicians jsut runing everywhere down it very sad.

Mouthy Girl, what a lovely idea for a thread. Sorry things have been bad with your mother's health I hope she's feeling better soon. What are you going to study for your degree?

At the moment I'm looking for a new job, suppose I should be grateful I have one, but I need to move on... Am also taking my driving test for the third time (oops!) in a couple of weeks, so hopefully that'll be another skill I can offer a potential employer. I've finished studying for now but I find myself with few options as there aren't that many jobs around here, it's an area badly affected by the last rescession, nevermind this one!! Things have been picking up though, have managed to find a few jobs to apply for.

Proposition 8 is a disgraceful piece of legislation that hopefully will be reversed. We had a similar thing here under the Conservative government of the 1980's - Margaret Thatcher was appalled that young children were being taught that they had a right to be homosexuals and so banned any mention of gay issues in schools, right down to throwing out books and staff could be sacked for discussing gay issues. Thankfully things changed here in 1997 when Tony Blair forced though a reppeal of it and things have improved and we no have civil partnerships for gays, civil and church marriages for straight people - kind of equal in all but name. I think the different religions can make their own rules, but civil agreements between couples has nothing to do with anyone else and it's just pure hatred and bigotry. I think things will change, it's only a matter of time.

As for me, life is kind of boring. I love the work I do but I hate where I work, so I'm constantly on the lookout for something else. My partner just got a promotion at his job so we will be moving at the end of the year to another division of his company a couple of hours away from where we are now. I think it will be a nice change of pace.

There have been a few groups organizing rallies and protests in regards to gay marriage in my state and the house/senate/whoever are looking at whether to put it on the ballot in 2010. It's a pretty conservative (read: backwards) state so I'm not holding my breath. My partner and I ae traveling to New York (his former home) later this year to see Kylie and are considering getting married while there provided it gets passed like Gov. Paterson wants (even though it won't be legal in our state).

aw thanks jamie i hope she get better to. there nothin like seein ur loved one in pain and suffering. i am going to get a degree in business/marketing. im mainly in it for marketing becaus ei find it to be fun but because skool dosent have a seperate degree i have to take basically like a double major. i also want to get a license in cosmetology only for makeup purposes but i cant afford it and i cant find skool that teaches makeup only. dont to much care for hair and nails. i think wigs are awsome and who dosent like premiade fake nails lmao.

Yeah we want wedding pictures, Matt! It's bizzare how the state laws are so different. We have things called by-laws, but they're only for very trivial things like the roads. Couldn't the congress overrule these bans if they wanted to? I did follow a bit of it while I was in America last month, but I didn't quite grasp how it all worked. Can't the president just force though some legislation, that's what happens here occasionally.

Mouthgirl, it's the proper driving test I'm taking, I'm praying it's third time lucky! if im correct and i could be very wrong lmao even though takin american government classes i am a lil off but if im right, each state has own laws and then i think their the law that the whole nation goes off of. but marriage i think is based on each state only way cna be over turned i think is by the supreme court which controls all state?? am i right lmao well that y i got a c in american government lmao it just to much stuff. i know one thing for sure america is not truly runed on democracy.

I'm a librarian. I actually just found out on Friday that I'm being considered to run my own branch on the other side of town. It's a BIG salary increase and it will be a great new experience for me.

If we do get married, it will just be the two of us at city hall, nothing special since it's not even legal in our state.

EDIT: Oh, and Matt is short for Mathew, not Matthew. My parents were weird.

How's everyone's week been, I've been off work most of it and done nothing, except to and see Gloria Estefan on Monday night which was sensational!!!

me i aint been feelin to well my body been hurtin alot so i finally went to free clinic saturday and basically all gave me was stronger pain meds which somwhat help and told me get vitamin d for my womely time of the month. they also had nerve give me a vaginal exam. let me tell u never in my life have i felt the kind pain that goes with that. yall be glad u are men. doctor like i need get these more foten um how about no. never again is anyone comin near or stickin anythin in me ever again. i will kill someone if they try to i am sooooooooooo serious.if i get a tomour in my crotch then too bad not like i have health care get it takin out anyways.

In a couple of weeks i'm starting a new education (don't know the exact translation of "opleiding") (toypoodle u know??) at an HBO (not the network, it sorta means Higher Job Education

Anyway, i'm really excited about it and in 4 years i'm hoping to be a very educated nurse (i know it sounds silly but it does take a lot of knowledge i guess)
